FAQs
How can I download PDF slides from the lecture?
Open the lecture and click on Slides (PDF) in the top right corner: the slides are there as a finished PDF to download. The PDF button next to it gives you the lecture as a text document instead.
How does the chatbot work?
The course AI is a chatbot that uses the Mistral and some custom code hosted on Hetzner in Germany. If you have any questions about the course, feel free to ask the AI. Note, that the AI is not perfect and sometimes the answers might be incorrect. For more information about how the data is processed, please refer to the privacy policy.
Is using an AI coding assistant cheating?
No! Think of it more like using a calculator. It is allowed and encouraged, but you must understand what it does in the background to check the results.
Will an AI assistant make me a worse programmer?
If you don’t learn the basics first by yourself and try to come up with the solution structure, most likely yes. But it is still better than just copying everything into ChatGPT and if used wisely, it can also accelerate learning by showing you patterns.
What if the assistant suggests wrong code?
AI assistants (and all large language models) are far from perfect. They work based on statistics and there will always be lots of mistakes and hallucinations, which most likely never can be fixed.1 That’s why humans are still very important in the loop.
